Customer Reviews for Swann HD PenCam 720p Mini Video Camera and Recorder Bundle
Review 1 for Swann HD PenCam 720p Mini Video Camera and Recorder Bundle
Pros: great quality video and audio, stylish, fairly inexpensive, works as a usb drive for storage
Cons: previous designs were mechanically unreliable, a bit bulky, fails to keep the date/time updated
"I have ordered two of these devices previously. The first one had a 2GB capacity and worked well for a few months but eventually failed due to a broken button on the top (the power and control button). I returned it. I ordered another one. It had a 4GB capacity but never worked properly. The transfer speed was VERY, VERY slow. It transferred at about 1-2 Megabytes per minute. Yes, MEGABYTES. It, too, failed eventually because of the top button. It simply failed to stop turning on and off by itself. I returned it too.
This is attempt number three. I am an eternal optimist and persistent to a fault but If this one doesn't work, I shall never purchase another Swann product.
I always thought the pen should have a flip-cap on top to protect the power button or a rubber covered 'momentary' switch on the barrel on the opposite side of the pocket clip.
Also, the pen ink cartridges are hard to find and don't last long. Mind you, they are meant only to enable the user to occasionally use the pen to avoid suspicion. When using this device, always have another pen to actually write with.
The two previous iterations of this device recorded excellent quality video and audio."
