Poor Battery/operation

Pros: quiet operation - little background noise.
Cons: battery doesn't last
"We have had this for one year and are fed up and buying a new one. It didnt charge up well from the get go. As others have commented, the battery on the parent unit is horrible. We are lucky if we get 1 hour out of it and often there is no orange flashing warning before it shuts off. We like the quiet operation though."

Finally a Monitor that works!

"I'm very happy with this baby monitor. We'd tried other digital audio monitors and they always cut in and out, had a lot of super loud white noise and interference, caused our wireless network to slow way down, or just didn't pick up the quieter sounds the baby makes.
This monitor is amazing! For starters, it doesn't interfere with our wireless internet in the house. It runs on a DECT 6.0 frequency, so it doesn't have to share the frequency with all our other devices (computers, laptops, iPad, iPhones, cordless phone, etc). The sound on the monitor is also crystal clear. I don't need to have it at a super high volume setting just to be able to hear anything at all! It's great. The sound doesn't cut in and out either. I love this monitor. I just wish it was the first one we'd bought!"

look elsewhere

Pros: styling, visual sound indicators, nice long power cords
Cons: rechargeable batteries fail quickly, static develops and requires a daily reset, unit spontaeously turns itself off, expensive for relative quality, failed batteries take too long to charge
"The rechargeable batteries need to recharge for 20hrs to get them to last the night. This makes the unit completely useless for the intended purpose of being mobile. Basically, we have to leave it plugged in all the time. This developed at month 3. Should ave returned it then but I didn't have the receipt.
As well,if I do not reset my monitor daily a hissing noise, like static, is heard on the monitor and keeps you up at night while you are trying to monitor your baby.
If you buy this, keep your receipt! Your best bet is to purchase a brand that some experience in this realm and has built a better mousetrap."

Not impressed

Cons: baby unit will not function during a power outage.
"Bought this based on reviews. Our experience....charged batteries for 48 hours but the unit never gave a fully charged indication. While running on 120v parental unit would shut down by itself and indicate that batteries were charging....while on 120v and with the units within 40 feet of each other the connection would drop between the two units and would not reconnect without shutting off the parental unit and restarting it. Tried moving the units around but this problem continued.
Perhaps we got a bad unit but we are not impressed. The fact that the baby unit has no battery backup means that in a power failure it doesn't work at all. Based on that fact alone we won't be getting another one of these....in the middle of the night we need to be assured that they work whether we have power or not. Will be returning and looking at other units.

Horrible monitor

"We have tried a few monitors and really dislike this one; these are the main differences we found between this and other monitors we liked more. It takes all day to recharge the batteries, and the parents monitor only lasts one night off the charger. There is constant white noise which can be annoying when you are trying to sleep. I do like that it has a visual bar for when the baby is making noise, but most monitors have that."

Great product

Pros: compact, quality audio, very sensitive, audible and visual indication
"Thanks to all for your reviews as it was the deciding factor for us to purchase this unit. This is a great product as it is very quiet, sensitive, and lasts a long time when charged. We have never experienced any interference or noise, just reliable operation. The visual LEDs are a great indicator if you are watching TV and didn't catch the audio, or hearing impaired."

Long range, great sound

"This is THE best monitor I've owned. The ONLY improvement I can think of is that I'd like to be able to own more than one of the small monitors for each bedroom in the house and then have channels on the parent unit so I could 'tune in' anywhere in the house...not just the baby room. As well, I'd like to be able to replace the rechargable battery as needed (about after a year of heavy use) but don't know where I can get it."

Constant static noise.

Cons: constant static noise, take too long to charge.
"I bought this baby monitor because of the good reviews. Unfortunately mine produces constant static noise. Maybe it is a lemon. I'll return it and order another one and update the review accordingly."

Great product, crystal clear.

Pros: crystal clear easy to carry and use great range
"We had an 11 year old hand me down monitor, it would constantly crackle and pick up other kids in the area.
We bought this one and WOW what an amazing product. It is crystal clear and you can hear everything, like you are in the room with the child.
It has great range and doesn't loose clarity while outside in the yard or garage.
We have only heard our child on this monitor, so it doesn't pick up other frequency's, which is nice.
Both units have a power cord if needed, or use the receiver with the included chargeable batteries.
Well worth the money and piece of mind."

A great purchase!

Pros: great price
Cons: no good in a power outage, taking longer to charge?
"I have had this monitor for over a year now and it works just as great as it did the first time! :)
My only complaint is that the baby base does not use batteries so if the power goes out, you are hooped...
Also, it might be my imagination but I am finding it takes longer for the parent base to charge from when I first purchased it.

Great Purchase!

"Very clear sound, long range when you're outside, the clip-on feature is so great because you're not carrying around a bulky item. The cord on the base is very long, which is great for moving it around the baby's room. You can honestly hear your baby breathing! Love that you don't have to buy batteries for it...it recharges at night when you plug it in!"

Excellent choice

"This is an excellent monitor!! Very clean sound quality, even when placed some distance from the crib (we could still hear our daughter breathing!). The clip-on portability of the receiver was great for listening to the baby hands-free while getting some chores done around the house. Also very easy to use! We would definitely recommend this monitor."

Great monitor!

Pros: good reception lights are helpful
"Have been using this monitor for 5 months ... it is an excellent buy compared to the more expensive monitors on the market. Crystal clear reception and I love how it has the lights on it. When you put the volume on real low or if there is lots of background noise, you can see the lights if the baby is in distress."
