Looks great but low on functionality
Pros: looks good
Cons: not efficient
"You get what you pay for. Because it is a round hood, it won't properly cover the whole surface area of your square range. Some smoke will go into the room. Also, this unit is hard to assemble due to poor instructions, and has very sharp edges...yes I cut myself on the actual range hood. Wear gloves, this will also hide fingerprints."

18 months of life then it died
Pros: good looking, price $
Cons: durability
"The fan ran good for 18 months and it just died on us today. same as other reviewer my squirrel basket broke and rattled around. I have tried calling customer service but communication with the AMS representative has not been easy. I'm waiting for their call back. Will be posting and update."

Looks great!
Pros: fan speed
"We just did a reno of our kitchen, new quartz counters, rust-o-leum cabinet makeover and new slide in range. The best part is this beautiful range hood. It opened up the space and looks really professional. A little mickey-mouse getting the chimney up, but overall with a little sweat-equity we got it up and it works and looks great."

Just Fantastic!
"I love this range hood! The price was fantastic AND it looks fantastic in my kitchen! I had someone help me, but still it was easy to install. The fan is quiet and has enough suction power to take out cooking smells and steam. I get a lot of compliments from friends who visit."

Great at a great price!
"We bought this range hood a while ago and just love it! The fan is strong but quiet. The lighting is just right. We really like the Italian style. It looks so good in our kitchen. We'd recommend it."

Fantastic!
"This range hood looks fabulous in our kitchen. It's style is so distinct and yet very simple.
We really like how quiet the fan is. I had a question about the lights, so I phoned the manufacturer and they were very helpful. They said for us to call them if we ever needed any help or if for some reason any parts ever needed to be replaced.
A1 service and A1 range hood!"

Broke within 6 months
Pros: looks great
Cons: cheap plastic blower
"Bought this curved 30" Ancona hood fan. It stayed in a box for almost 6 months until I got my kitchen reno finished. I couldn't believe what a bargain this fan was. Now I think I understand. 6 months after installing it we turned it on one day to be greeted by a loud rattle. I turned it off quickly. The next day I took it down. The squirrel cage fan's center support had broken. It was just cheap plastic. We rarely used the HIGH setting. 90% of the time it was on LOW. A few times we used the MEDIUM setting. Getting parts looks like it's going to involve a trip to Italy. :-("

Thank you for your review. I would suggest that this hood might have been slightly damaged during shipping. This may make the plastic motor housing a bit brittle and may cause rupture over time. This hood is still under warranty and can be fixed at no cost. Please contact the Ancona Customer Service at 1-800-350-4562.
