Sunsetter Motorized EasyShade Solar Screen

"Awesome purchase. Our deck is fully southern exposure and even though we do have an awning, during high winds it is not practical. This solar screen has helped immensely blocking the sun rays and it is noticeably cooler in the house when down. It came in a timely manner and was installed easily within an hour. Love the fact its motorized and does not flap in any winds, but would have liked to see that the blind could be stopped at intervals instead of strictly up or down. It is our only complaint and a very small one.........."

Same dead battery !

Pros: looks well made and operates as it should., blocks sun from sunporch very well
Cons: dead battery supplied with unit
"I got the shade yesterday and mounted it. Tried to operate the unit and nothing happened. Tested the battery and found it to be dead- it had not been used!
Had to drive 20 miles to find one.
Disappointing to say the least.
The blind works well and was fairly easy to install.

Bad customer service

"We are happy with the motorized Sunsetter. It filters the sun (and heat), yet we can see through the window.
The problems we found are that if there is no electricity, or you misplace the remote, or the control's battery runs down, you can't open or close the screen. i.e. it will remain in whatever position it was until the power comes back, or you get a new remote if you can't find the original, of you get a new battery.
The other problem was with customer service. We called the number on the manual because it came with a dead battery and because we wanted an extra bracket to hold it more securely (we have two small kids). The number was in the U.S. We were told to call the distributors in Canada. The distributors in Canada said they do no carry the batteries as they come from the U.S. They told us to call the U.S....you get the idea. After five calls, we had to buy a new $10 battery (hard to find) in order to try the Sunsetter for the first time. And the extra bracket? To send it from Montreal to Toronto, $40+ (including shipping and taxes) for a simple bracket!"
