Very Disappointed

Cons: noisy, terrible wi fi display quality
"I have purchased Toshiba products in the past and have always had good luck with them. They have obviously slipped down severely in their engineering and quality control lately. This particular model is very noisy, the display for Wi Fi connections (Netflix, You Tube Picassa) is very grainy to the point of being difficult to watch. I have had problems getting the Blu Ray door to open when I have finished watching a movie to the point I have had to pull the power cord and restart it to get the thing to open. The final blow came when the on screen interface just disappeared and all I can use it for is to play movies. I have had since January and I will be returning it if I can."

Not worth it

Pros: blu ray playback is sufficient
Cons: horrible netflix performance, horrible youtube performance, horrible picassa performance, remote control stutters
"It's loud, but the Blu Ray player works fine. Everything else about this device is painful. I can get a wifi connection - but Netflix is so painfully slow that it's unbearable. Picassa I could log in but I never got more than 3 albums loaded - it just couldn't do it. YouTube never worked (or I just lost patience - can't tell) wifi signal in the room is 4 bars and other devices work fine. It's a shame because I've always had great experiences with Toshiba - not this time though - I'm returning it today"

No Wifi connection

"Could not get it to connect to WiFi. It recognized my network, I entered my password key, and it recognized that as valid. But it could not make the final step of connecting. Faulty password? I entered a wrong one to test, and it immediately detected that p/w was invalid. Went back, tried correct one several times. It just spun its wheels until it stopped trying and gave a timeout message. Tried a second machine, same result. We have a standard phone company router, and it works fine with our other stuff, including a new laptop just purchased. The graphics were good, screen setup looked easy to use - too bad it's not compatible."

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

"don't even waste your money on this DVD player. The player shuts off for no apparent reason. The wifi will loose signal strength and drop Netflix or or videos on you computer. Returned it and bought a Samsung BD E5700 works great no problems with the wifi."

Good enough for the price

Pros: easy set up, easy menu, nice looking
Cons: basic use only
"I am replacing a much more expensive bluray player with this one. I have come to the conclusion that if these things are only going to last 2 years i may as well only spend as much as i need too.
Good picture, easy menu, easy set up. Would it be my first choice for a high end home theater? Nope but a family room where the kids frequent is a good place for it.

"DVD player is good, but the WIFI is horrible. Its shut down at 14 min. Always.
Bought a second one to verify it and the same. a lot of files type are not compatible.
So i bought the WD Live TV. A lot better. The one they have at Costco is not WIFI, old model. Bu the new is incredible."

Poor Quality

"I was so excited about this purchase because of excellent price point and built in wi-fi but after only a few days of use we lost the picture from the player ... sound but no picture. Decided to return it and get another ... thought that maybe it was just bad luck. Unfortunately, after a week of using the second one again no picture! I will be returning this one and hopefully will have better luck with another brand."

Simplicity at it's best!

Pros: wifi included.
"I am glad I ignored the bad reviews and trusted my previous experiences with other toshiba electronics. It was simple to set up electronically and with the on-screen menu; dummy proof in fact. WIthin minutes I was connected via wifi! Great picture and quality for this player. At this pricepoint to have wifi included it is a steal!"

Needs Firmware Update

Pros: wifi connected no seperate device required
Cons: shuts off when playing from media devices
"Seems fine overall with the exception that the firmware seems to need an update due to the fact it doesn't recognize a USB media or burned disc media as activity, resulting in shutting down after supposed inactivity apprx 45 mins). Haven't seen if this is a result in watching off netflix either, but searching the forums on Toshiba show that people discovered that problem as well.
After they update this issue I'll give it a 5 star. But for now, this is annoying and making me want to return it, however I'll wait for a firmware update."

Great Value

"Bought the Toshiba Blu Ray player with integrated Wi-Fi and it works great. Bought a Sony Blu Ray player available on this site and it was a huge headache. Very happy with Toshiba."
