Much easier to wake up in the dark.

Pros: light fades on and off
"I wasn't sure if this light would work at first. It helps you wake-up feeling rested. I don't struggle with waking up in the dark any more. It's also a great reading lamp when reading in bed at night."

Best way to wake up!

"This is my second Philips wake up light. When the first one broke I missed it so much I searched and was thrilled to see that Costco sells it. The price may seem high for an alarm clock but to me it is worth it. It's the best way to wake up feeling good. The light slowly brightens the room almost always waking me before the gentle wind chimes have a chance. The only problem with the lamp is the length of time my first one lasted. It broke within a year of purchasing but Philips replaced it without any problems. When the replacement broke a few years later the warranty was expired and I was disappointed that it could not be repaired but rather had to be replaced.
Despite the repair problem I love this product and definitely recommend it to someone who has difficulty waking up in the mornings.
The delivery on this item was amazing.
I ordered it Monday afternoon and it arrived Wednesday afternoon. Great job Costco!

Recommeded!

Pros: daylight like light at night!, true to sunlight colour spectrum
Cons: i miss the old beep or buzz of a regular clock
"I am very happy with this purchase. The light does exactly what it says it will.
Don't expect a miracle and expect to hop out of bed, bright eyed and bushy tailed, it is still morning after all.
I found the best aspect of this (for me) is the dusk simulator. I find it much easier to fall asleep now. More so then with OTC sleep aids and other 'tricks'.
Mornings are still tough, but then I've changed my sleeping pattern by 2+ hours so that adjustment isn't easy.

Amazingly, it works

Pros: good looking, quality product, nice radio and sound effects
Cons: could not find any
"I can't understand and even less explain how but it works. Over a few days I changed the alarm time up and down and each time I awoke naturally and in very good mood when the light was 1/3 to 1/2 in the (30 minute) cycle. I am very pleased with this product."

Best Purchase Ever

"I am very happy with this "Wake-up Light" and I really enjoy it. However, it should come with more options for the wake-up sound such as ocean wave, waterfall, rain drop, melody music, etc. Anyway, this is a perfect wake-up light and the best purchase ever. I will recommend this product to my friend. Keep improving!!!"

The Very Best

Pros: super light, super sounds, fabulous fm sound
Cons: no cons
"I do not know why everyone does not wake up this way. I lightly awaken with the light coming on and the birds just make my day. I was ready to throw my old alarm clock across the room when it awakened me. I wake happier and raring to go."

Great product

"I love this alarm clock! It is easy to use, and a much more civilized way of waking up. We had to move it from the night table, across the room to the tall dresser because our toddler was too fascinated with it, but the light still manages to slowly wake me up by gradually brightening the room. The wake up sounds are also lovely.
If you plan to use the radio, it is a bit tedious to switch stations because there are no pre-sets."

Mornings are so much better!

Pros: gentle way to wake to to light, nice nature sounds, easy to use, good radio
Cons: will wake your spouse if your schedules differ
"I am in love with this purchase. As a self-professed NON-morning person, I often have to be jarred awake by loud alarms, Not now.
When the light slowly starts itself on, I find that I am awake without even realizing it was happening. It is a wonderful, relaxing way to start the day. I also add the sound of chimes at the end. Best money I have spend on an alarm clock."

More than satisfied

"The Philips Wake-up light was a great purchase. Living in northern Alberta, we have a lot of dark mornings from October until April. I am waking up to the light and feeling like I am rested, previously getting up on the dark mornings was torture, now I wake up and feel alive, just like I do in the summer months. This lamp works great!"

Am buying a second one

Cons: dusk light level same as wake level (want less), can't disable alarm sounds, no auto dusk simulation
"I have a sleep disorder, so am trying to finetune my sleep hygiene. I like the dusk simulation, it helps to have the gentle dimming, no more abrupt lights out! I also wake up before the dawn simulation is completed, but that's part of my sleep disorder. The bright light when fully illuminated helps wake my body/brain up so I feel more alert. I like the bird sounds too.
My husband tried it for 2 nights (we are sleeping in separate rooms while we sort out our sleep issues) and I am now ordering a second one for him. He suffers from depression, so this and the Philips Blue Light unit are going to help as we go into this winter period with less light in the morning.
The cons for me are that the dusk simulation light level has to be the same as the wakeup level (I don't like bright light going to bed). Also, you can't disable the alarm sounds. And it would be nice for the unit to remember that I want a dusk simulation, it has to be manually set each night, including the timing."

Probably worth it.

Pros: lights up the room, works well, omnidirectional
Cons: needs different sounds, decor fail, price
"I missed the sun so much I purchased this. By the second week I have grown accustomed to the light and it no longer wakes me up before the alarm. I am however sleeping very lightly when it does go off so that is good. It's funny because you want the light to be on the other side of the room from you but need it close to 'sleep' the alarm. Because of that the alarm feature is less useful.
Overall I don't get up in the dark any more and I'm not squinting at the harsh lights when I turn them on because I'm already used to it.
It's a good device and I don't regret the purchase."
