Second floating island for us

Pros: cost, durability, fun for the whole family
Cons: deflating it and storing it
" Just bought our second floating island. the first one was so much fun, we had it for 3 summers. It did get some holes. To fix that we tried a couple of patch kits. the one that worked the best was from the hardware store with the maple leaf in their logo, it was liquid that you paint over the hole like nail polish. It worked perfectly, even on larger holes and a even a cut from the dock.
We used the floating island more than any other water sport we have ever had. We missed it when it finally got too many holes. that had more to do with our landscape than the quality of the item, and an incident with some fire works. It was money well spent that's for sure.
The first one cost us around $100 and we got many weekends over 3 summers. We hope the new one is just as good! It looks alot bigger, with the area for reclining. Can't wait to get it in the lake!

Beer me!

Pros: seats and foot area drain well
Cons: didn't use the coolers, needed a longer anchor cord (we have a deep lake)
" I bought one last year and had it anchored out in the lake all summer. Can't go wrong with the cost of this item, hours of enjoyment and relaxation.
We have small kids and were able to get the whole family out together, our 1 year old would splash around in the mesh "pool" area and the 3 and 5 year old would use it as a swimming platform.
Rather than keep it out I would bring it close to shore when I packed up (bad idea). It ended up with a small puncture that I had a hard time repairing. Being out in the sun all summer, a small amount of Alge grew on the bottom (in the water) and in the zippered coolers when they got rain water into them. Easy enough to clean and not a big deal. Had the kids swim beer out to us all summer.
The slow leak from my poor patch job was annoying but for the price it is worthwhile to just replace it. I am picking a new one up when it shows up at the warehouse. This time will keep it out of reach of the rocks and brush on the shore.
