Great Value

"Easy installation on the electrical with a certified electrician. We used a reducer from the in and out on the water from 2 inch to 1 1/2 as this is standard to the rest of the system. Had some problems contacting the Aqua Pro people on the phone and email. After contacting Costco they finally replied.
All my questions were answered by the Aqua Pro Technician. The product works perfectly and maintains the heat level easily. Be patient with the initial heating it is not a gas unit. We heat and air condition our home with a Heat Pump and is very inexpensive for our area. I expect the Pool unit to be as efficient..

Works Well

"We installed our pool, but we like our pool to be at or near 90 when we use it. So we bought this heat pump. Price and delivery were great. Installation was a breeze wiring and plumbing took less then 20 minutes of actual work.
Once the glue for the PVC fitting dryed turned it on and in less than 4 fours it took our pool from 79 to the desired 89 setting since then it has maintained the pool temp perfectly running most days for less than an hour."

Very Good Purchase

Pros: easy set up, quick delivery
Cons: converting 1.5 inch pool plumbing to 2 inch
"After looking around at more expensive name brand units sold by pool suppliers, we happily settled on this unit after positive feedback from friends. The unit arrived at our house in only 4 days, and after some minor plumbing adjustments, and a hook up by a qualified electrician, we were up and running. The pool temperature went from 67.5 to 78 in 21 hours with a night time low of 13 degrees Celsius."

Started off bad ....

Pros: price, delivery, after sales service
Cons: 1st one was a lemon :-)
"So I ordered this unit - delivery quick , install easy. After 12hr operation got a HP code, called co. and great service. They sent someone to repair ... 2 days later LP code. Called again they sent someone else. They fixed the LP code ... 2hrs later HP code again !!!!!!! Returned it to Costco with no issues. Now, I ordered another one got it within 5 days ... installed it .. no trouble since ! 1st one was a lemon ??!?? Anyhow as I said the Co. service was impeccable. Unit works well .. digital display is great ... so far so good :-)"

Decent product but could be better

Pros: price, delivery
Cons: poor documentation, poor 1-800 support, poor waterproofing of electrical panel, low soldering quality
"It is decent product but could be better. Here is good and bad:
Pros:
Great price
Quick delivery (1 week, straight into my garage)
heats up 3 degrees for 12 hours run
Cons:
Manual is "one size fits all" kind, lots of irrelevant info and not enough of relevant
electrical panel is not water-proof enough
bottom pane has no drain hole, had to drill one
pump has 5 min delay to start, almost gave me heart attack watching mine brand new pump refusing to start. Delay is not mentioned in manual of course.
soldering on electrical board could be better, almost broke off and lost capacitor while connecting power
contact "pump" has no voltage until flow sensor detects water flow. Chicken and egg situation, manufacturer has no idea how to use "pump" contact.
rutinely temperature goes above set temp and pump would not stop until temp will go 0.3 degrees or so above

Very happy with product

Pros: works very well
Cons: it's a little bit noisy
"I bought for my 12'x24' above ground pool.
A simple 2 hots and a ground two pole wire config. that I did myself.
Started heating right after filling from tap when water was still 55 degrees fareheit, and water was up to 85 within 48 hours in the middle of May in Winnipeg!!! INCREDIBLE!!!
I now have my pool pump on a timer to start mid-day when the unit is most efficient, and the heat pump usually shuts off within a couple of hours after reaching 88 degrees(yes I like my water warm)...Without the heater running at night, the water looses a few degrees, but it has no problem bringing it up the next day.
Last year I ran my pool pump 24/7(that's my pump and not the heat pump), but this year I am running it for only 8 hours per day, and the heat pump for only 2 hours of that 8 hours.
I fugure that since I am only running my pool pump for a third of the time that I did last year, I should'nt use any more electricity than I did last year even with the heat pump.

Likely will work OK

Pros: looks like a well made unit.
Cons: incomplete instructions
"Installed it this weekend but pool won't be open to test it out for a week or two. Will be using it for initial heating & supplement solars on cool days. Installation instructions with the unit and on the web don't say anything about piping size. 2" coupler going down to 1 1/2 internal (my system pipe size) seems strange and had to install reducers on inlet & outlet. Unit is much larger then it looks in pics."

Pros: best price around
"We just installed this for our above ground pool. We love it! Easily installed by a electrician. Up and running in hours! Pool was heated to 86 degrees in about 4-5 hours"
