Not for kids
Pros: price
Cons: bobbin assembly is frustrating
"I bought this for my young daughter as a starter machine. Upon reviewing how to insert the bobbin I found it much too complicated. I am used to drop in bobbins, nice and simple. I didn't want her first experience sewing being a frustrating one so I returned the machine. I would rather spend a bit more to get a drop in bobbin. Costco took it back no problem."

Good for decor projects, bad for stretch or knits
Pros: great value
Cons: does not sew well on stretch or knit materials
"This machine is great value for a simple sewing machine, and it does a decent job for non stretchy materials. I did quite well on it with upholstery materials, but it was an absolute disaster if you are sewing jersey or stretchy knits. Its zigzag stitch was also somewhat lacking. If you intend to use it for decor projects around the house, hemming curtains etc, I would recommend it. If you're looking for something for dress/clothes-making, you might want to consider a higher-end model. I also found the speed controller very sensitive and somewhat difficult to maintain a constant moderate sewing speed."

Great Starter Model
Pros: value for the money

"Great product for the price - fantastic starter model. Simple to use. It was a bit finicky with jersey fabric but I think with more practice it should be fine."

Good price for a beginner
"I'm not a sewer, but thought I'd start. I haven't used the machine much since I just received it, but it is relatively easy to use/set-up. The only thing I'm not sure whether I like or not is the placement of the thread cutter and the lever for the presser foot (I'm used to the lever being at the back of the machine, not on the right side of the presser foot).
Threading the machine was really easy and doing basic stitches was very simple.
Machine is quite lightweight. As a result, the foot pedal is quite light and could use something to weigh it to the floor.
Great price for a beginner machine!"
