Love it!

"We've had out Pelican Kayaks for years and love them. We use them year round in lakes and class 1 rivers. Don't listen to the negative reviews, these kayaks rock.
We've priced them elsewhere many times over and Costco has the best deal.
New 2010 model looks to be even better than our 2005 model however ours still has years of life left in them."

Good for price but...

"I did not purchase the kayak; my sister in law did because we have kayaks and she wanted to join us on the water and these seemed similiar. So I tried it out and this is my opinion. I found it to be a little tippy and can easily take on water with a swing of the hips. You wouldn't want to be out in it on a windy cold day with any waves. I called it a fair weather kayak. A younger lighter person who isn't going to go far (or fast), will like the ease of turning, weight of boat, and learning the basics but there should always be supervision close by and a good life jacket fitted well for that reason."

Great buy!

Pros: paddles & carrier included in cost!
"This has been one of our best sport investments ever! Yes, entry level, but simple, easily maneuvered, light for transport and an all-around joy to be in for a few hours before and after a picnic lunch. Backrest might need some customizing, but for this price and quality, I am happy to make any minor adjustments."

Good investment for the money

Pros: easy to use for a beginner
Cons: not as quick as a longer kayak
"Excellent quality in the entry level kayak. Perfect for the beginner. Comes complete with paddle and car roof carrier. Made of Poly-XR material which is 30% more rigid than standard polyethylene. Easy to use for the beginner"

Think Twice

Pros: low price
Cons: what you pay for is what you get.
"This is a VERY entry level Kayak or a play toy for children. My first of many challenges with it start with the lack of knee braces. Without them a person will tire rapidly on a long paddle. The "adjustable" seat, in my opinion, was designed by someone that has not had to sit in it for a long period of time. For a person serious about kayaking I would encourage a study of ones past entry level"
